Our Vision...
- BELC is a leader in a collaborative, ecumenical hands-on mission to our neighbors in the Espanola valley. We seek to follow the example of Jesus, serving our neighbors, offering
physical, spiritual and social assistance. We joyfully strengthen various local, regional,
national and global outreach efforts with financial and direct participatory support
- BELC is a community leader in ecumenical and inter-faith activities. We provide a safe and
grace-filled place to explore and understand similarities and differences and build bridges.
- We have an active and vibrant youth and family program involving all ages of the
congregation. We undertake exciting and fulfilling activities that draw families with teens
and post high school people into fellowship and service. Our families with pre-school and
elementary age children find activities and fun at BELC after school and weekends that build
their love and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
- Our Biblical and Sacramental Worship is the cornerstone of our lives as the family of God
here at BELC. It is a renewing and joyful celebration of God's grace in Jesus Christ. We
incorporate music, instruments, voices, prayer, liturgy and other diverse ways to experience
the Gospel, celebrate our blessings and open ourselves to God's will. We seek new ways to
connect more deeply to Jesus Christ our Savior and each other.
- BELC has a challenging education program, which nourishes our children, engages our
teens, and revitalizes our adults.
- We are the flagship for integrating "Sanctuary and Laboratory" by providing the model for
openly discussing science and faith issues.
- We have a stronger, more vibrant and effective senior adult ministry. We provide
opportunities to serve and be served which helps integrate seniors into the whole life of the
congregation.
- We maintain and improve our facility, inside and outside, to support our programs and the
needs of our congregation and community.
- BELC is family. We love, support and care for each other by participating generously, by
bearing each other’s burdens, and by seeking fellowship.
- BELC effectively and generously manages all of our God-given resources - money, facilities,
people, time - to accomplish God's will for the congregation.
